KRÁLÍK, Lukáš. Publication of Law in Slovak Legal Culture before 1918. Historický časopis, 2022, 70, 1, pp. 53-86, Bratislava. Special publication of law was not established for the territory of presentday Slovakia, in the Hungarian part of the monarchy before 1918. The Czech language served as an authentic (original) language for regulations issued in the central official journal publishing Austrian monarchy regulations from 1849 until 1852 for the territory of the Slovak speaking part of the Kingdom of Hungary (later being considered the official translation version). From 1852 to 1859 the Czech language also served as an original language for the Hungarian Government Gazette published by the Austrian central government. Between the years 1850 and 1853 the official or old version of the Slovak language had the function of an authentic language in this official journal. After 1867, official Slovak translations of the Collection of State Legislation, the official collection for the Hungarian part of the Monarchy, were published from the beginning. However, other regulations from the Hungarian government, below the level of legislation did not appear in Slovak versions.
