Transformación y cambio. Reestructuración de las villae romanas durante el siglo IV d.C. en la zona occidental del Imperio. Análisis de algunos casos murcianos
Abstract
Villae constitute the most characteristics material remains of the roman passage throught the Iberian Peninsula. These where essential for their way of life, therefore, their knowledge is fundamental to understand this moment. During the IV century A.D., the end of this period was heralded in Occident. Far from disappearing, some of these places suffer internal transformations to face the new general context and maintain continuity, constituing in some cases big points that controlled their surrounding territory. Thus, in this article a general analysis of said century in the western area will be carried out from the perspective of the villa, reflecting causes and consequences of these changes and approaching this moment in several examples of murcian villae: Los Villaricos, Los Cantos and Los Cipreses.
