It is a study on the changes the transition to maternal role brings about in the puerperal period. Itobjectified to uncover how the puerperal mother experiences transition to maternal role while care is delivered; toset up new methodological ways to implement new human care models privileging role change. It’s a qualitativestudy trailing a methodological research-care trajectory. Thirteen puerperal, several-aged primíparas were interviewed.The instrument used was a semi-structured interview in the clinic. Analysis was effected by informationreading and re-reading. To become the analysis process more accurate reaching depth in understanding, meaningunits were structured through intellectual exercise. Three categories take up the apprehended. Point out the needfor nurses to be alert for the signs of transition, stressing supportive professional help facing the multiple possibilitiesof being.
