Background: Emergencies can cause psychological problems, namely anxiety. Anxiety is a response often experienced by the patient's family when facing emergency problems; one of the nursing actions to overcome anxiety problems is to carry out therapeutic communication. Therapeutic communication is a process by nurses consciously to influence clients or help clients understand better through verbal and non-verbal communication. Objective: To determine the relationship between the nurse's therapeutic communication and the anxiety level of the patient's family experiencing emergency conditions. Research design: This study is a quantitative study with a cross-sectional approach and a descriptive correlational research design with a sample size of 50 respondents using purposive sampling. Results: The results showed a relationship between nurses' therapeutic communication and the anxiety level of patients' families experiencing emergency conditions, with a p-value of 0.003. The results of this study indicate that most of the nurses' therapeutic communication is good (96%), and the patient's family anxiety level is mild (88%). Conclusion: The nurse's therapeutic communication is good, and the anxiety level will decrease. Suggestion: For health services to apply therapeutic communication to all patient families and patients who get nursing care to increase comfort for patients and patient families.
