Ressourcen für den Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) an Bibliotheken / Resources for the Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) at libraries

Abstract

Support of PDAs is a matter of course for medical libraries in USA. European medical libraries show interest in this mobile technology but lack knowledge about ways and means to advocate PDA usage. This paper wants to reveal options for offering PDA resources to patrons. Possible ways to foster PDA usage are subsumed in 12 groups along with examples from libraries which published papers about their operating experience with these new technologies. Finally good reasons to start a PDA project and the most appropriate PDA resources and some concerns about PDA usage are listet.
