This vignette investigates and notes the results of introducing multicultural picturebooks to the classroom and allowing students to read and critically engage with the text on their own, rather than having the content taught to them. The methods of introducing global literature, providing supplemental information, and guiding the discussion based on what the students pick up from the text encourage students to gain a deeper understanding of other cultures.
