Verbos de indicação na Libras: possíveis evidencias de distanciamento
Abstract
In this research, we analyze specificities of a group of verbs, which has been called in the literature of indicating verbs (LIDDELL, 2003, MOREIRA, 2007), or verbs of agreement (BRITO, 1995, QUADROS, KARNOPP, 2004). The objective is to identify person deixis in Brazilian Sign Language and, more specifically, to discuss distance notion in indication verbs articulation. This research is justified due to the lack of studies in the area and necessity to understand more about indication verbs. The data (corpus) of analysis of this research were 54 jokes, talked by 35 deaf participants, 26 men and 9 women. In the analysis of the videos, we found 113 indication verbs. In this research when the referents are distant, the indication verbs tend to be articulated in distant trajectory, hand position above and the height of the signers head.
