Dictionnaire kpele de la Guinée (guerzé) – français

Abstract

This paper is a bilingual Guinean Kpelle – French dictionary, with a brief introduction containing the basic information on Guinean Kpelle, and a French – Guinean Kpelle finder list. The dictionary contains almost 3000 Kpelle words and expressions translated into French, with dialectal variants, irregular grammatical forms, illustrative examples, collocations, and idiomatic expressions. The spelling of Kpelle words is based on the official Guinean orthography adopted in 1989, with tones marked as diacritics. The data for the dictionary were collected in Nzérékoré (Forest Guinea) between 2008 and 2019.
