Modélisation de répartition d’élèves et délimitation de secteurs scolaires en milieu urbain
Abstract
In the midst of a school reform context and following its continuous population growth, the city of Lausanne had to re-examine various aspects of the management of its public schools. This article, while describing the general structural framework of compulsory teaching, focuses on the spatial dimension of school organisation. It addresses the issue of school transportation and describes the approach used to design new school districts. To carry out this task a regularized version of the optimal transportation problem was developed to model students-to-school closest assignment. The implementation of the Lagrange multipliers offers a visualisation of spatial cost resulting from the assignment.
