Under the influence of natural erosion and human activities, the coastal ecological environment has been destroyed, and facing problems of damaged coastlines, reduction of coastal wetland and vegetation degradation. Ecological restoration is both opportunities and challenges for coastal cities. Constructing coastal ecological corridor is one of the effective measures to protect the coastal zone. Ecological corridor has many ecological functions, such as protecting biodiversity, filtering pollutants, regulating flood and connecting landscape patches. The construction of coastal ecological corridor can buffer the contradiction between marine resource protection and city development. Taking the Shanghai section of the north bank of Hangzhou Bay as an example, this paper proposed a series of coastal ecological corridors from the aspects of the interior and exterior spaces of the corridor, landscape greening and marine ecological base, based on the practice of marine protection and restoration and ecological corridor construction in Shanghai. According to the specific indicators and suggested values, and combined with the habitat status of the northern section of Hangzhou Bay, suggestions for building coastal corridors were put forward from the ecological and social functions of the corridors.
