Experience in restoring cruise tourism in countries where the first wave of the pandemic

The article shows that the crisis caused by COVID - 19 has put cruise tourism participants in a difficult position and effectively suspended this one of the most important sectors of the world tourism sector. Shares of major cruise companies in various countries have fallen sharply, and many other cruise companies have suffered billions in losses, losing much of their value. Many countries have taken some steps to restore the cruise sector, including easing cruise restrictions for tourists, financial and non-financial support measures for both tourists and companies, and more. It is important to study the experience of restoring cruise tourism during and after the pandemic in different countries, which should be used in other parts of the world, will help countries overcome difficulties in the future and restore the world economy. The experience of restoring cruise tourism in some countries where the first wave of the pandemic took place is considered. The main materials from official sources of the UN, WTO, media contributors and scientists on the state, methods and measures to restore the cruise industry in some major tourist countries: the United States, China, Italy, Germany. On the basis of the analyzed research variants on restoration of cruise tourism in Ukraine are offered. The role of the Governments of the countries where ways of restoration of cruise tourism are found is shown. Also highlighted are the active actions in the same direction of non-governmental organizations such as: the International Cruise Line Association, the American Society of Travel Agencies, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The essence of step-by-step measures to restore the cruise industry in the United States is presented. It is proved that the adoption of enhanced measures and under the constant guidance of leading experts in health and science and governments of different countries, the restoration of the cruise industry is possible and should spread the experience of the US, China, Italy, Germany to support the cruise industry and partnership, economic recovery, while maintaining an emphasis on effective and scientifically sound measures to protect public health.
