An Historiographical View and Review of the Canvas “Saint Ursula and Eleven Thousand Virgins”, from the Painter Paul of Cespedes

Abstract

Although it is true that, in the last years, new investigations concerning the painter Paul of Cespedes have been undertaken, certain doubts continue to persist in reference to some o the works in unknown whereabouts. Among them, we must highlight the canvas of “Saint Ursula and the Eleven Thousand Virgins” from the Convent of Saint Clare of Cordoba, a composition of which we have found some documentary information that we aim to analyse and contrast with the information offered by Spanish scholarship.
