Impact of Common Agricultural Policy reform on the income situation of starch potato producers in Poland
Abstract
Mechanisms of the Common Agricultural Policy have an impact on the income situation of the population running farms. This policy is subject to constant change, which directly affect the agricultural sector, including the profitable situations potato starch manufactures. This paper presents the results of 10 farms where starch potatoes produced. Results concerned two years, potato campaign 2011/2012 and 2012/2013. In the first year of the study payment was related to production while in the second year of the study there was no payment, which resulted in the collapse of the profitability of starch potato production. In 2012 there were adverse effects, which had a significant impact on the decline in the profitability of starch potato production.
