Linearized layering method for stress intensity factor determination

Abstract

Article highlights An approach to determine stress intensity factors by linearizing a layered notch stress profile is presented. Stress intensity factors for multiple notch geometries are investigated and tested using the Linearized Layering Method. The Linearized Layering Method is a robust and effective method to determine stress intensity factors.
