Episode of urban climate in São Carlos/SP in seasonal autumn situation in 2014: modeling of urban heat island
Abstract
Understood as one of the main environmental problems, the urban climate results from the changes in the local climate associated with the urbanization process, mainly by the transformations in the occupation of the soil and the removal of the vegetal cover and its replacement by constructed materials. The islands of heat or pockets of hot air that form on the surface is a recurring phenomenon in cities and their identification, intensity and spatial representation is fundamental for the analysis of environmental and urban problems. thus, this article presents the analysis of an episode of the urban climate in seasonal autumn situation from mobile transects and statistical procedures for the modeling of the heat island according to the geographic categories studied in São Carlos/SP. The methodology was robust and the thermal differences were superior to 5°C of spatially distributed intensities due to the constructive pattern, densely built areas and the little wooded areas.
