This research is a result of Labor Completion of course in Physical Education from the Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia - UNESP. At the time, through historical research, were sought answers to questions that relate to the construction process of motivation in physical education classes. Thus, to observe and analyze the facts related to the topic, especially since the dawn of Physical Education at the end of the nineteenth century to the present day, there is political influences every moment of Brazilian history in the constitution of the curricular component, as well as how many teachers mediated / mediating knowledge, and how they interacted / interact with their students. Putting in place procedures hygienists, eugenicists, militaristic and esportivistas, in which the body culture has always been without meaning and significance to a significant portion of their students, physical education until the 1980s could not show their social legitimacy. And it is on this framework, through the support of epistemological critical approach surpassing in Physical Education which advocates a pedagogical-praxis that is capable of motivating students for active participation across the curriculum component, so that students can motivated to appropriating knowledge produced by human gender.
