On May 31, 2008 we marked 80-years anniversary from the day of foundation Institute of Microbiology and Epidemiology of All-Ukrainian Academy of Sciences (nowadays – Institute of Microbiology and Virology of NAS of Ukraine). It is briefly described in the article the path covered by the institute at these years and its achievements in different periods of its existence.
