Factors of the Semantics of the 17th Century European Titulature

Abstract

The article examines the components of the titulature system of the 17th century based on the book of the English jurist John Selden Titles of honor. As the result of the analysis, such semantic factors of the European titulature are proposed which enhance the interpretation of a certain title.
