The article depicts the evolution and state of the art of the publications (books and chapters) on Translation and Interpretation Studies (TIS) published in and about Hispanic America. Information is drawn upon from BITRA (a TIS specialized database) and publication count methods are applied. The results reveal an increase of productivity rates mainly from the mid-1980s on, a ten-year delay in the region, and the confirmation of specialists in and about Hispanic America. Results also point out the predominance of literary themes, case studies and historical issues, and of non-specialized publishing houses and Spanish when it comes to publishing.
