Abstract

The Water Research Institute (WRI) is a scientific research base for the water management sector of Slovakia. It is part of highly specialised network of research organisations across the world and a fully-valued member in the European area. The WRI is a public non-profit research organisation governed by the Ministry of Environment, and it conducts comprehensive research in the field of water management and provides scientific assessment, expert opinions and professional consulting services for the development of sustainable water management. The Water Research Institute actively participates in finding solutions for current and future environmental problems, and especially emphasises the rational use of water and adherence to national development concepts and international commitments.
