Consciousness as «limiting concept»

Abstract

The article justifies the need for creation of the ontological models of consciousness of the personality with allocation and comparison of the main directions of research: philosophical, natural scientific, psychological. We describe the basic trajectories of the research of consciousness: panorama as the consciousness «with the world»; the choice of certain foreshortening of the research; disclosure of the internal content, functions and signs of consciousness. The article presents philosophical angle of the research of consciousness as limiting reality. The internal space of historical and philosophical knowledge of phenomenology of consciousness is constructed and the process of receiving and accumulation of philosophical knowledge of consciousness is described. The dichotomy of continuous «stream» and discreteness of consciousness is showed as external contradiction and internal principle of stable and dynamic property of consciousness which promote understanding of all three of its forms: consciousness «about the world», consciousness «in the world» and consciousness «with the world». The approaches, research tasks and ideas which act as manifestation of a process dynamic aspect of philosophical knowledge of such phenomenon as consciousness are presented where it is shown not only versatility of the research tasks, but also interaction of the alternative options and certain competition of the scientific programs. The main coordinates of the research field of consciousness are suggested; they allow displaying substantial aspect of philosophical knowledge of the phenomenon of consciousness and structural conceptualization of plane structure of consciousness, its substantial and functional characteristics and typical signs. The cognitive symbolic analysis of evolution of consciousness is presented in the article. The interpretation of consciousness is suggested from the point of view of an external position as ensuring «experience of distinction», discrete catching and recognition of the existing signs and manifestations of external from the point of view of an internal position, as manifestation of human light spectrum, manifestation of essential structure of experiences.
