Author present results of the sociological researches conducted between years 1995 and 2015, concerning Russian society’s attitude toward Perestroika. Perestroika era not only fundamentally transformed Russian history, but also drastically changed vector of its development at the end of XXth century. Perestroika was unprecedented experience that constantly affects public in Russia and in other post-soviet states. The majority of Russian citizens believe perestroika was a mistake, the experiment that failed, expensive endeavors, bringing Russian state more harm than good. Very few shares different view i.e. perestroika was a breakthrough, decisive moment in Russian history, but not fully exploited, period of spiritual renewal of Russian society.
