L’assistance au récit d’asile ou l’engagement par la conformité. Un exemple de médiation glottopolitique
Abstract
This article intends to question the glottopolitical commitment of the third people assisting asylum seekers in their legal approach. More specifically, this study focuses on the discourses and practices helping the asylum narratives production. From Bourdieu’s sociology, the aim is to show that mediators have an eminently glottopolitical role as they are key people within the institutional ritual. Indeed, their commitment takes place between resisting migration policies and complying institutional expectations. Regarding their intervention on the asylum narratives and appeals, their role appears to be part of a remediation process to sociolinguistics difficulties that seekers cope with. Their third place in the relation between the institution and the asylum seekers distinguishes their commitment, providing them with the power to divert and negotiate this interactional structure.
