Des mots, des mondes ou l’inclusion des sinogrammes dans l’album pour la jeunesse
Abstract
Many picture books include sinograms. Bringing awareness to children about ideographic writing, in the context of language awareness and pluriculturalism, can help them understand the differences between the alphabet and ideograms.Starting with the idea that the nature of the ideogram is highly composite, this article will show how this type of writing can be understood as an image as well as a textual sign, and that its analysis is therefore a matter of visual semiotics.
