Pediatric inflammatory multi-systemic syndrome associated with COVID-19: a case series with a pediatric intensivist approach

Introduction: MIS-C is a late complication associated with COVID-19 infection in children that frequently requires intensive care management. Objective: The objective of the study was to describe the characteristics and clinical course of MIS-C cases treated in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. Methods: Description of evolution, demographic, clinical, and paraclinical characteristics of 4 patients with MIS-C. Results: The most frequent clinic was Kawasaki-like, all of them presented with shock and elevated inflammatory markers. They received support and immunomodulatory treatment, and all presented a favorable evolution. Conclusion: The diagnosis and treatment of this entity represent a multidisciplinary challenge.
