Through the presented research, the focus has been on those aspects related to the self-evaluation of teachers that allow them to reflect on their performance, identifying strengths and weaknesses, and promoting quality teaching aimed at encouraging critical reflection, continuous improvement, and professional development. The text identifies the different forms of self-assessment, then analyzes the available approaches and tools, and finally presents the objectives, obstacles, and problems related to self-assessment. The purpose of this contribution is to demonstrate how self-assessment can be taught and rigorously and pertinently practiced in the classroom context to contribute to the training of autonomous, critical, and responsible subjects of their own learning.
