The author defines the existing conditions causing the necessity of conducting experimental and innovative activity in the higher education sphere. The interrelation of Z-generation students and X- and Y-generation teachers are touched upon. The author investigates how students’ audiovisual perception of their environment influences their ability of mastering the main types of speech activity at the Foreign Language lessons. The suggestions concerning the efficient organization of the future higher school teaching-learning process are given. It is stressed that under the existing paradigm, education is obtained not through regular learning, but through the mass media information flow. As a result, it leads to the mosaic structure of human culture, which hinders the researcher from meeting the latest requirements in any sphere and developing the proper research methodology.
