“Dal fondo delle campagne”: dantismi di Mario Luzi

Abstract

Mario Luzi first approached Dante’s poetry at the very beginning of his literary career. Therefore, over the course of time, his lines have assumed the character of a modern Dantesque journey, full of uncertainties, doubts, and deceits. This article explores a series of rewritings and refigurations of the Commedia, especially the Purgatorio, in the context of questions of time and of the human condition as an experience of pain and possible compensation.
