Abstract

Neurologic diseases influence the morbidity and mortality in non-neurosurgical operations and determine the required tests for the preoperative evaluation, the choice of the anesthetic medication and the perioperative care. The present review provides information about the principles of the preoperative management in patients with neurologic diseases undergoing non-neurosurgical operations and addresses some special preoperative management issues in specific neurological diseases
