Job analysis of Sports Events
Abstract
People are considered the most valuable asset of an organization and it is through the performance of daily tasks that they contribute and lead the organization towards achieving its objectives and goals. One of the elements that make up people management is job analysis, which is the basis for all other people management functions. The objective of this study was to analyze and describe the organizational positions present at sporting events, identifying the existing positions, applying a process of job analysis and creating a model of the professional profile of the positions. This study is characterized by its mixed nature, in which a questionnaire was applied to 42 event organizers, obtaining quantitative data and choosing two events that were part of a case study, in which an interview was conducted in which qualitative data was obtained on the positions. For data analysis, the content analysis program MAXQDA v.2020 was used. The results demonstrate the professional profile of three positions present in sporting events: event manager, director of sporting activities and commercial manager, as well as pointing to the accumulation of functions that generate vague positions in sporting events.
