Thermal Operation Regime of Multidisc Oil-Cooled Brake
Abstract
The thermal operation regime of a multidisc oil-cooled brake of a dump truck has been analyzed at its motion in a slow-down mode along a continuous downgrade. The initial boundary value problem for the considered operation regime of the brake has been formulated and solved by the finite-element method. The formation regularities of a nonstationary temperature field in the brake disc pack have been determined. A dependence was obtained between the maximal temperature on the friction surface of a most heat-loaded friction pair versus dump truck speed and coolant consumption.
