Le cycle 1998-2012 dans l’économie uruguayenne : une croissance soutenue sans risque de déséquilibres ?
Abstract
This article analyzes the most recent cycle of the Uruguayan economy (1990-2013) in the light of the long-term trajectory of the economy. The main objective is to investigate whether what is being experienced is a lasting change of historical trends, or whether it is a new, very successful that although economic cycle, is not a break with history. The article concludes that remain persistent in some of the most important structural features, and that while progress has been made in the development of public capabilities and implementation of industrial policy, progress in this field are still modest compared with needs policies that could promote more substantive changes in economic structures that have been the historical determinants of lag and high volatility of the Uruguayan economy.
