Objective In order to evaluate the forensic efficiencies of 35 InDel loci in Chinese Kyrgyz group and analyze the genetic background of the Kyrgyz. Methods A total of 214 unrelated healthy individuals in Kyrgyz group were investigated using a novel self-developed 35-InDel panel. Allele frequencies and forensic parameters were calculated. The DA, FST values, PCA, phylogenetic and STRUCTURE analyses were utilized to analyze the genetic relationships between Kyrgyz and other reference groups. Results The results showed that the mean He, PIC, DP values of 35 InDel loci in Kyrgyz group were 0.471 9, 0.358 5, 0.605 3, respectively. The combined DP and combined PE values were 0.999 999 999 999 994 and 0.998 2, respectively. Conclusion The results re‐vealed that these 35 InDel loci showed high genetic diversities in Kyrgyz group, hence, could be utilized as a robust tool for individual identification in Kyrgyz individuals. Moreover, Chinese Kyrgyz group is relatively close tothe Kazak group revealed by the present population genetic results.
