THE ONIRIC IMAGES OF THE VIOLENCE IN THE SLAVE SHIP POEM FROM CASTRO ALVES
Abstract
This essay aims to discuss the limits and the challenges of contemporary fiction regarding the use of metanlinguistics as a literary discursive approach. Ian McEwan wrote a novel which discusses the concept of literature as the interpretation of the world when building up a constellation of texts (Walter Benjamins concept) to defend the idea of a literary identity in English Literature. This identity would be a way of preserving fiction as a reflection on the world.
