An analysis of the effects of rivers in improving the vitality of cities (case study: Agharoud river in Babol)

Introduction: Agharoud river in Babol city can play a significant role in improving urban vitality. But since the environmental organization of this natural element has not been paid much attention at the city level, it has become an environmental problem at the city level.Data and method: The method of the present study is applied in terms of purpose and descriptive-analytical and field in nature. The statistical population in this research includes citizens living in the neighborhoods around the Agharoud river in Babol, who were selected randomly. The method of collecting information is library and field, and the tool is a questionnaire. SPSS and Smart PLS software were used for data analysis.Findings: The influence of this river on the surrounding environment and the state of urban vitality in the neighborhoods around the Agharoud Babol river have been assessed as very poor.Conclusion: The least amount of role and influence is related to the mixing of uses and components of social interactions and prominent and unique identity. Based on the structural model of the research, the environmental component of Agharoud River with a path coefficient of 0.583 has the greatest influence on the environmental vitality component, and with a path coefficient of 0.452 it has the least influence on the economic vitality component.
