The paper aims to analyze the role women play in the social and cultural life of the Middle East and North Africa, in particular their role in the working environment. Women in the labor market are forced into a position of inferiority because the laws that provide rights to workers contradicted and violated by family laws. Although their legal position is certainly more penalized than it can be seen in Western countries, women’s participation in the economic and political spheres has increased in recent decades. Through the study of various cases it has been demonstrated that women have played a key role in the Arab-Islamic world since it is understood that women’s emancipation is a fundamental premise for progress.
