Geopolitical Leadership: the Role of Trade Agreements
Abstract
International trade relationships and trade agreements are key elements in countries’ geopolitical strategy. Although the articulation of geopolitical influence through trade is not something new, it is new the incorporation of non-commercial clauses in trade agreements. In this context, China, as an emerging power, and the US, a consolidated leader, are trying to introduce new orientations in the world economic order through the configuration and articulation of trade.
