An unusual case: postauricular pilonidal sinus

Pilonidal sinus is a cronic disease of sacrococcygeal area that is created by mixing “pilus” which is meaning bristle and “nidus” which is meaning nest in Latin. Although it is most frequently seen at sacrococcygeal area; it’s also seen at axilla, inguinal area, umblicus, neck, scalp and betveen fingers. In this case 18 years old female patient that came to us with puffiness behind ear for the last 6-7 month is presented. In the preoperative survey there was a hyperemic, soft, mobile, painless mass at the right postauricular area. That mass is excised totally under general anesthesia. It’s reported pilonidal sinus after histopathologyc investigation. The patient did not have any trouble in postoperative period. Case is discussed by the side of location in the light of past literatures.
