Some aspects of maintenance of combat aircrafts

Abstract

The fundamentals of modern conceptions and organizations of maintenance of combat aircrafts and engines in air forces are presented in the paper. The stress is on the condition maintenance conception, especially on the definition of criteria for the condition maintenance application. Experience has shown that this conception increases the maintenance economy and the availability of combat aircrafts, keeping, at the same time, the flight safety on the required level. The paper also discusses the possibility to change the conception of repair of combat aircrafts and their engines (as the lightest maintenance level), which results from the condition maintenance application and which is applied, or can be applied, in a particular form, in Yugoslav Air Forces and Air Defense.
