Francis Skorina’s Biblical Translations and Their Influence on the Publication of Ukrainian-Language New Testament Texts During the Reformation
Abstract
The impact of Reformation on the cultural processes in Ukraine has been demonstrated in the article. Attention has been drawn to the fact that many translation of the Biblical texts into the contemporary Ukrainian literary language had appeared under its influence in the second part of the 16th century. Among them are Yaroslavskyi Manuscript, Zinkivsko-Manachynskyi Manuscript and others. The well-known Peresopnytsia Gospel and the Gospel by Valentine Nehalevskyi also belong to these artifacts.
