Reading is a very complex linguistic-cognitive activity for children at an early age, and even more so for digital natives. On the other hand, by using stories with abundant graphic material and audiovisual didactic tools, as well as with the teacher as a mediator of the narration, it is possible to motivate children and generate verbal exchanges around the stories narrated. From various subjects that affect trainee teachers, we set up the interdisciplinary Teaching Coordination project awarded by the Faculty of Education of the University of Malaga, during the 2020-2021 academic year: Patexplor@ "i look, i read, i get excited", which was based on audiovisual narrative and the use of cultural heritage and democratic values as an innovative strategy to promote digital literacy, acquire basic skills and make the hidden curriculum visible, activating the imaginative potential of boys and girls. specially through ICT, stories can become a socialising tool for the construction of the personality and identity of citizens, helping them to learn and transmit values, attitudes, beliefs, norms and socio-cultural models.
