Objective To analyze epidemiological characteristics of tuberculosis in a hospital in Lhasa with the year of 2016 as a node based on the clinical data of the disease during 2008 and 2020. Methods The clinical data of 7 523 patients diagnosed with pulmonary tuberculosis in a hospital in Lhasa from 2008 to 2020 were collected. The changes of age, gender, disease characteristics, distribution and composition of the patients before and after 2016 were analyzed. Results The number of pulmonary tuberculosis was increased continuously from 2008 to 2015, but the number was gradually decreased from 2016 to 2020. The number of the cases was larger in urban areas than rural areas, but the difference was narrowing. The males and Tibetan people were more common when compared with the females and Han people. The age composition of confirmed cases was mainly middle-aged and young people (20~50 years old). Except that the number of cases aged 10~20 was increasing, the number of cases at other age stages gradually decreased to both sides with 2016 as the watershed. Among the diagnostic types of pulmonary tuberculosis patients from 2008 to 2020, the diagnosed primary pulmonary tuberculosis ranked first, accounting for 78.75%. There were few cases of other types of pulmonary tuberculosis. The cases of tuberculosis in the hospital mainly come from Lhasa, Nagqu Prefecture and other district governments or city with better natural environment. Conclusion After 2016, the number of pulmonary tuberculosis shows a significant downward trend in the hospital.
