Abstract

The author eamines in a non academic manner, three recent pieces of litterature and cinema produced by young Cambodians whom parents are refugees in the USA and France. The two books and the short film presented in the note speak about the intimate though distant relationship with their parents’ culture, their painful past as well as the artists’ own place in this (his)story. The writing is inventive and uncompromising and adress the issue of the unspeakable burden that the film maker and the two writers carry on their own shoulders.
