TEMPS ET TRADUCTION: UNE APPROCHE PRAGMATIQUE

Abstract

Translation exercises with Romanian as a target language show a significant amount of variety in temporal equivalence. This observation led to an investigation of temporal connotations in French and Romanian from a pragmatics and a translation perspective. In the larger context of the debate surrounding the concept of translation unit, we deem necessary to research the inferential process by which linguistic information interacts with context in order to generate sense.
