As in other languages, phonetic changes independent of each other have occurred in different Turkic dialects. Due to the nature of language, these phonetic changes are different from one another in different regions. Among Turkic dialects, the Turkish and Azerbaijani Turkic are very similar to each other, but they also exhibit a lot differences in phonetically. These differences, which have occurred during a long period, are observed in areas such as vowel change, consonant change, phoneme elision, anaptyxis, gemination, and metathesis. The above differences are not exclusive to Turkish words, but can be seen also in loanwords. In this paper, the above differences have been investigated with examples.
