In the practice of Preventive Medicine Course for students of the Sixth Year of Medicine, a study of environment sanitation and an over-all subjective observation of the Locality is made in a section of Bogotá, using the card "Record of Property" employed by the District Office of Health. The analysis which is presented in group factors reveals: 1) Deficit in public service, principally in the collection of refuse. 2) Poor hygienic environment. 3) Deficient local conditions (construction, lighting, etc.). The results of bad sanitation in the sector and the impact upon the health of the area are noted. Some suggestions are given, among other things, the application of social-economic studies and the mortality of the population. The orientation brought forth by the Medical Director of the Health Center, No. 27, Dr. Gabriel Villamar in, the technical advice, and the faithful help of the health inspectors of the public health agency is greatly appreciated in a very special way.
