Taxonomy of the family Salpingidae (Insecta: Coleoptera: Tenebrionoidea) Leach in Korea

Abstract

In this study, a taxonomic study of the Korean Salpingidae Leach is presented. Four species under the three genera are recognized. Genera and species Chilopeltis laevipennis (Marseul, 1876) and Salpingus depressifrons Nikitsky & Belov, 1983 are reported for the first time in the Korean Peninsula. A key to the Korean Salpingidae species, habitus photographs, and line drawing of male genitalia of S. depressifrons are provided.
