An important place occupied by book culture in the multi-vector world culture determines the relevance of studying its various objects, including the book culture of monasteries. There fore, the purpose of the work is to present, on the basis of factual material, a picture of the book culture that prevailed in the Roman Catholic monasteries of the Lutsk/Lutsk-Zhytomyr Diocese in the 17th-first half of the 19th centuries. Manuscript books and the history of manuscript literature are not considered in the publication. The research methodology is based in scientific principles of historicism, objectivity, and systematicity, represented by historical comparative and quantitative methods, as well as method of source analysis. The scientific novelty consists in the comprehensive analysis of factual material as a source for the history of the book culture of the Roman Catholic monasteries of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth I. For the first time, an attempt was made in the context of the concept of "book culture" to highlight the place and role of the Book in the life of twelve Catholic monasteries of the Lutsk-Zhytomyr Diocese. Conclusions. The analysed material demonstrates that in the studied monasteries, book culture had the same aspects as in the other monasteries on the territory of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth I. The publishing products of the Berdychiv and Lutsk monastery printing houses reflect the ecclesiastical, social and cultural life of the region and their editions are artifacts of the book cultural of the Right Bank Ukraine of the second half of the 18th-first half of the 19th centuries.
