Bilan et perspectives après deux décennies d’une politique d’accompagnement de la fin de vie en France
Abstract
This article reviews the incentive policies implemented in recent years concerning the development of palliative care and end of life support in France. This is an unprecedented and important development: in just indeed two decade four public health plans have been put in place, the creation of a national end of life observatory and then a national center palliative care and end of life care, a mission entrusted by the President of the republic to Pr Sicard on this subject, several notices or reports from the national consultative ethics committee and finally a important legislative support (three laws concern palliative care and/or end of life since 1999). After the presentation of this report, a reflection will be made to think in what way these policies exceed their object (the end of life) to reveal deep changes in the relationship of our society about the question of the finiteness and the death on one hand, but also in its report to the vulnerable people
