A educação para a paz no Século XXI: busca de sentidos no espaço virtual
Abstract
Our approach is focused on the issue of pacifism and education in Portugal during the twenty-first century. We consider cyberspace as an arena for its constitution as a social problem. After exploratory research we identified the expressions "pacifism and education", "education and pacifism" and "education for peace" as a starting point for the establishment of a documental collection. The research carried on in the web 2.0, mobilizing Chrome as the browser and Google as the search engine, under our established restrictions of location (Portugal) and language (Portuguese). The sources were subjected to documentary analysis using the critical method. The study allowed us to characterize the diversity of sources and the audiences they are aimed for, to identify organizations and actors, arguments, the different positions and objectives, and to develop a comprehensive reading of education for peace in Portugal, both as a social and an educational problem.
